Dental Technology in Yuba City

At Fit Dental, we make use of the latest innovations in dental techniques and technologies to ensure patients are completely comfortable, safe, and receive the highest quality treatment. Dr. Ajaipal Sekhon and his Yuba City, CA dentistry team use dental technology to make even the most advanced treatments fast and convenient. If you’d like to find out more about how technology improves the treatment experience at Fit Dental, call our team. We’ll be happy to answer your questions or schedule an appointment.

Intraoral Camera

One of the most important technologies we’ve incorporated at our office is the intraoral camera. This small, handheld camera resembles a thick pen. It is specially crafted to capture clear images inside the mouth. Rather than relying on our ability to accurately describe areas of oral health concern or using tiny mirrors to show your smile, we can look at crystal clear images of your smile together on our chairside monitor. These images are an invaluable in providing patient education, treatment planning, and effective dental care. By seeing their smiles through our eyes, patients are able to better understand their treatment options.

Digital X-Rays

In addition to intraoral photography, digital x-rays are used to help patients understand their oral health care needs and treatment options. X-rays are used to give patients a clear view of the inner workings of their smile. Traditional x-rays were captured and developed on film. This process took a long time, and once the x-ray images were developed, they needed to be physically delivered to the dental lab, specialist offices, and insurance providers as necessary. Digital x-rays are captured quickly with less radiation exposure, and the digital files can be instantly transferred for view on our chairside monitor. We can also easily share these images with dental labs and specialists. Stored digitally, we can quickly call up x-rays for comparison between visits, which makes it easier than ever to discover developing oral health concerns in the earliest stages.

Sirona CT Scan

While digital X-rays help us learn substantial information about your oral health, sometimes additional technology is needed when planning more complex treatments. After we’ve completed a scan, which only takes about a minute to perform, we’ll have a detailed, 3D image of all your essential oral structures. This includes your bone tissue, jaw, and other organs needed for treatment planning and/or diagnosis. For example, with a CT scan, we can better diagnose muscle and bone disorders, pinpoint the location of oral infections, and confirm the location of nerves and blood vessels.
